During the Republican National Convention in July, Pro-Life Republicans gathered by the hundred to attend the “Life of the Party” gala, hosted by Eagle Forum. At this event, Pro Life Republicans had the opportunity to meet and celebrate this year’s accomplishments as well as the legacy of Phyllis Schlafly.

At the banquet, friends and colleagues made known the great accomplishments made for the pro-life movement by the humble Phyllis Schlafly. Those who spoke about her made it clear that during a time when the Republican party was unclear  about its position on life, she worked tirelessly and passionately within the party to convince its members of the importance of protecting the unborn.

Today, because of the work of Phyllis Schlafly and her colleagues, the Republican party is known as the party that strives to respect and protect the life of every unborn child. As one speaker noted, the Republican party was the party  that recognized that even though slavery was legal, it was immoral. In the same way, the modern day Republican party refuses to accept legal abortion, and will work until every unborn life is valued, regardless of party.
