In recent months, Planned Parenthood, along with its allies in Hollywood, the media, the medical community, and the political world  have been going on a campaign to promote the use of the doubly dangerous and controversial abortion pill, also known as RU-95.

One likely reason for this is the fact that many abortion clinics across the country have either gone bankrupt and were forced to close, or in some cases have been shut down or greatly regulated by temporary orders or permanent legislation from state and federal government. Also, the partial defunding of Planned Parenthood by the Trump administration has played a large factor in closing many clinics. Lastly, the large amount of cases currently filling up the ever increasing conservative courts (which put the Roe v. Wade decision in legal jeopardy) has worried the abortion industry. Nevertheless, the promotion of the abortion pill has garnered heavy criticism and scrutiny from many pro-life leaders and organizations.

In fact, Live Action, which uses videos and other forms of media to expose the abortion movement and to educate the public, recently created an 11 minute video which explains the whole story behind RU-95. It included its controversial history, ties with notorious figures, and much more. The video details what the abortion pill is and its dangers.

At the moment, the abortion pill is currently authorized by the FDA to be taken up to the 10th week of pregnancy. Recently, nearly 100 lawmakers in Congress have called on the Food and Drug Administration to ban the pill, citing its imminent hazard to the public health’ that poses a ‘significant threat of danger.’

The abortion industry has admitted to using the drug for weeks after the FDA limits, during a time when the baby in the womb is developing rapidly. In fact, the heartbeat is detected between 5-6 weeks, when many women discover their pregnancy. When the baby reaches 10 weeks, “all vital organs are in place, and the teeth are starting to harden and connect to the jawbone.” These are some of the stages of development during which many babies are senselessly killed with the abortion pill, which involves the taking of two pills, Mifeprex and Misoprostol. In 2017, of all U.S. abortions, the pill accounted for nearly forty percent, and has reportedly been used 339,640 times: “that’s 930 children killed every day.” This is beyond just a number: these are innocent lives senselessly murdered in the name of convenience and choice.

According to Live Action, during the years of 2000 and 2018, 24 women have reportedly died due to the abortion pill, and many others have been seriously injured either temporarily or permanently. Thus, this self-administrated procedure is not only always deadly for the innocent baby in the womb, but also has proven to be extremely dangerous for the mother.

The details surrounding the abortion pill’s controversial history and the major players should put further scrutiny on all parties involved. As highlighted in the video, the pill was developed by Etienne-Emile Baulieu, who was a fellow researcher together with the “father” of the birth control pill, Gregory Pincus. Early in the 1980s Baulieu, working as a consultant, developed Mifeprex, originally labeled RU-486, for the big pharmaceutical company Roussel Uclaf. As it was being approved by France in 1988, the pill was receiving public backlash, due in part to Roussel Uclaf’s participation in another moral atrocity. Namely, the pharmaceutical giant was a major shareholder in Hoechst A.G., formerly the chemical company I.G. Farben, which manufactured cyanide gas used in the Nazi concentration camps.

According to the New York Times, “I.G. Farben played so important a role in Hitler’s war machine and in the Holocaust that it came to be called ‘the devil’s chemist.’” At the end, even though pro-life voices in France were able to stop distribution of Mifeprex, which again kills innocent lives, the French government intervened and allowed the drug to be used. Then, in 1993, President Clinton allowed RU-495 to enter the United States, 20 years after Roe v. Wade. This led Roussel-Uclaf to sell rights to sell, distribute, and manufacture the abortion pill to the Population Council, which was founded by John D. Rockefeller III and was led over the years by prominent eugenicists. Today, it is funded in part by Bill and Melinda Gates, both outspoken advocates for population control.

To manufacture and distribute the pill, the Population Council formed an independent, secret lab called Danco, which has been given donations by notorious figures such as Warren Buffett, George Soros’ Open Society Foundation, and the David and Lucille Packard Foundation. LiveAction says that to this day the FDA is unaware of the location of this laboratory. Yet, the entire abortion industry is wholeheartedly pushing this more than ever before, because they see it as their future.

The video concludes with specific ways in which the pro-life movement should combat these latest efforts, which begins with education. Three big questions to ask and to act on is: Who are the big players, the movers and shakers, and their ties to our various institutions? What are their views on basic principles of life and liberty? And lastly, why do they have so much power?
