The 2023 Women Delivery Conference is here. Every three years, multiple organizations from all over the world, including the International Planned Parenthood Federation and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to name a few, gather to discuss how to advance a heavy pro-feminist and pro-abortion agenda. This time, the conference is taking place in Kigali, Rwanda, from July 17th to July 20th.

One of the main issues discussed at the conference was the Dobbs v. Jackson case in the United States, which resulted in the overturning of Roe v. Wade. This landmark decision marked a major step forward for the pro-life cause, finishing with decades of abortion being protected at a constitutional level in the U.S.

In the framework of the Women Delivery conference, the virtual event “Global Repercussions of the Rollback of Abortion Rights in the US” took place, organized by the Guttmacher Institute. The event included the participation of organizations like Fòs Feminista, the Latin American Consortium Against Insecure Abortions (CLACAI), and the Reproductive Health Network in Kenya.

The purpose of this virtual event was to discuss the implications of the overturning of Roe v. Wade in three key points.

Firstly, according to the speakers,  the Dobbs v. Jackson decision would slow down abortion rights around the world. For us who believe that life should be protected, this ruling sets a precedent that countries can use to defend life constitutionally and reevaluate their own abortion laws. Recognizing the inherent value of every unborn child is a fundamental principle that should transcend cultural and legal differences, at the time that the legal framework of the decision hopefully will serve as an example for other countries to re-evaluate their abortion policies and understand that the so-called abortion rights have no space in any constitutional framework.

Secondly, the panel was concerned that the Dobbs decision will lead to the persecution and prosecution of abortion seekers or providers who fail to align with clinical guidelines is misplaced. It is crucial to emphasize the necessity of adhering to ethical standards in all medical procedures and abortion procedures have been shown to be not only highly unsafe but also highly unethical, as there’s plenty of scientific evidence supporting the fact that life begins at conception.

Lastly, the panel seemed discouraged by the Dobbs v. Jackson decision helping to boost pro-life movements worldwide. By affirming the constitutionality of more restrictive abortion laws, the Supreme Court has delivered a significant blow to the autonomy-based narrative that underpins so-called abortion rights.

This ruling hopefully will energize and unite pro-life advocates globally, encouraging us to challenge existing abortion laws and advocate for more pro-life regulations. It also provides a platform to keep on promoting crucial support systems for pregnant women, empowering them to choose life-affirming options and promoting alternatives to abortion.

In conclusion, The Dobbs decision represents a turning point in the ongoing debate surrounding so-called abortion rights. and the sponsors of a culture of death worldwide, present at the Women Delivery conference know it. I urge every prolifer to keep on taking advantage of the momentum created by the overturn of Roe v. Wade and work hard as we’ve been doing it so far,  until more and more people cherish the value of every unborn life and promote alternatives to abortion, so we can work towards a society that prioritizes the protection of innocent human life from conception.
