Several weeks ago, Dan Cathy, president of Chick-fil-A, came out and made the statement that he supports the Biblical definition of marriage – between a man and a woman – and that no government can redefine this. Since then, the outcry from “NOH8TE” LGBT organizations has been, well, quite hateful.
They have sponsored protests, boycotts, and destruction of business partnerships, all to spread their “no-hate” agenda. On the other hand, Christian and conservative organizations, spearheaded by Mike Huckabee, have stood up and provided adamant support for Dan Cathy. Today, August 1st, hundreds of thousands of people across the country will be visiting their local Chick-fil-A to support Dan Cathy for standing up for the truth. Around lunchtime, the C-FAM staff will be going to eat Chick-fil-A because we support the family as defined by the Catechism of the Catholic Church, which was based on the tongue of Jesus, that “sexuality is ordered to the conjugal love of man and woman. In marriage the physical intimacy of the spouses becomes a sign and pledge of spiritual communion,” (CC 2360) and, “Basing itself on Sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity, tradition has always declared that ‘homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered.’ They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life” (2358). Since we stand with Christ, we support the one true definition of marriage that has been so for thousands of years.
Please, if you haven’t done so already, take this day to go out to your local Chick-fil-A, and support the family, support the God-given definition of marriage. Moreover, if you do not have the ability to go to a Chick-fil-A or even if you do, please offer up a prayer for those who do not understand the beauty of the sacrament of marriage, for all those in the “NOH8TE” campaign: that someday they might understand, and might come to see the light!
