A week from Friday will be the 40th anniversary of Roe vs. Wade and the Annual March for Life. Students for Life are taking an active approach to the March. Just this past week their President, Kristan Hawkins, released a new book entitled, “Courageous”. The small book is a collection of stories of men and women who have either been involved in an abortion or are actively working in the Pro-Life movement. On Monday, January 9th, Students for Life hosted a webcast featuring several of the authors of “Courageous”. The webcast was incredibly moving and allowed for it’s listeners to catch an intimate glimpse into the lives of these people. The authors range from a young woman who became pregnant as a result of rape and decided to keep her child, to the story of Jason Jones, the Executive Producer of the Pro-Life film, Bella. Each story illustrates the diverse picture of the Pro-Life movement. It is very evident from Courageous that people of all backgrounds, faiths and life paths desire to come together to continue their efforts in creating a culture of life.

The March for Life provides those with these hopes to jointly raise their voices for this cause. The March for Life will take place on January 25. The Rally will begin at 12:00pm and continue until 1:30pm, followed immediately by the March. The customary route for the March will be up Constitution Ave. and end at the Supreme Court building on Capital Hill. The night before, on January 24, there will be the National Prayer Vigil for Life at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, beginning at 6:30 pm. In addition, the Students for Life are hosting a slew of events including the Students for Life of America National Conference on Saturday, January 26, beginning at 9:30 am.
