¿Have you ever heard the new battle is against family? Even though it suppose each family has the opportunity to educate their children as they consider it’s better for them. Nowadays, governments want to replace families in their labor as parents.
The 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights declares that “parents have a prior right to choose the kind of education that shall be given to their children”. But, ¿what is happening with far-left governments? They are collecting and funneling hundreds of millions of dollars to flip local city councils, school boards, and county prosecutors’ offices to the left.
The best way to achieve a goal, it’s being strategic, and that’s how leftism works. They know schools are the ideal places to start changing minds, so, they do.
James Wilson, best known for his role at the Convention in drafting the Constitution’s Preamble, said: “Parents must maintain their children decently…; to protect them according to the dictates of prudence; and to educate them according to the suggestions of a judicious and zealous regard for their usefulness, their respectability, and happiness”.
Parent’s rights over schooling
The left’s agenda is taking control over schools. Douglas Blair, an American journalist, had the opportunity to work in education for four years.
“I worked with kids from ages 3 to 13 and saw the brainwashing that exists at all levels of education. The left uses a combination of propaganda and suppression to push kids into the ensnaring grip of socialism and anti-patriotism”, Blair said about his experience.
During an interview with The Heritage Foundation, Blair shared an experience he had about black lives matter and how at schools they try to make students associate it as a matter of human rights.
“Many of my colleagues wore Black Lives Matter pins and apparel to school in blatant violation of school rules forbidding political statements on clothing”, he said. Furthermore, Blair explained how dangerous it is, because children would see these pins and clothes and connect radical leftist groups with basic human dignity.
Gender ideology education
Another issue that is taking control over schools is gender ideology. Namely, the left has been working its way into America’s public schools for years, in both the official curriculum and extracurricular activities. Meanwhile, schools have begun enabling gender-confused students to “socially transition”, without their parent’s knowledge or consent.
In Rocklin County, California, as part of a kindergarten boy’s transition to female gender identity, a teacher read two transgender-affirming children’s books to her class, leading up to the transitioning student’s reappearance dressed as a girl. But, what about his parents? They were not notified or allowed to opt-out, leading to outrage at a subsequent school board meeting.
¡Children deserve better! It’s in our hands the responsibility to protect them from confusing ideologies that destroy families and take away parental rights.
