Today, like many other pro-lifers, I went online to the anonymous blog by “ProLifeAntiWoman” to make a donation from my “college student budget” in order to save an unborn human being from murder. The reason? I believe that every single person from the moment of conception is a precious, unrepeatable human being that has a right to life.

As most people have already heard by now, this past week, an anonymous woman put her seven week unborn baby up for ransom. She wrote in a blog that she would give pro-lifers 72 hours in order to raise 1 million dollars or else she would abort her baby. According to the webpage, the motivation for this was to prove that, “The pro-life movement cares very little about saving lives and far more about controlling women by minimizing their choices” See the anonymous blog for more details here: http://www.prolifeantiwoman.com/prolifeantiwoman/

In doing this stunt, which we by the way now know was a hoax, (See Live Action’s Article hoax:http://www.lifenews.com/2015/07/07/womans-demand-of-1-million-or-she-would-abort-her-7-week-old-unborn-baby-exposed-as-a-hoax/ )  the anonymous woman (who is actually a man from Japan) raised an incredible amount of media attention and anger. It has yet to be proven the motivations of this person, whether they be monetary, pro-abortion, political, etc. However, if this person was doing this to prove a point about pro-lifers, he or she certainly failed at that. Of course, the biggest mistake that this anonymous blogger made was failing to recognize the innate value in each human life. Instead, he or she kidded himself into believing that a monetary value could be put on a priceless unborn child.

By the amount of public debate, angry social media, and other pro-life advocacy that raised attention about this unborn child, I am confident that I was not alone in my concern. I would even bet that if this fundraising campaign had not been a hoax, pro-lifers would have raised the one million dollars in its entirety. The reason for this is that pro-lifers are truly pro-woman. We believe that every woman deserves the right to her own body, even if she is still in the womb.
