James Castro

James Castro

James Castro is Northern Virginia native. He did his undergraduate and postgraduate degrees at the University of St. Andrews studying first in Sustainable Development followed by a Master’s in International Development Practice. His undergraduate dissertation studied John Paul II’s understanding of the human family and analyzed its implications for sustainable development research and practice. This paper concluded that an understanding of the human person is needed before one can attempt to solve broader issues be it social, political, environmental etc, and ultimately strive towards a sustainable development. During his collegiate years James was also active with the University’s Pro-Life Society and the Catholic Society. Currently, James is interning with C-Fam in its Washington D.C. office. During his free time, he enjoys taking walks, playing the piano and guitar, and reading.
