This past June, during the Organization of American State’s 46th General Assembly in Santo Domingo, 15,000 Dominicans made clear their bold support for life. Outside of the General Assembly events, a lively crowd marched and danced in support of pro-life policies in their country. The theme of the march was “Si, queremos sostenibilidad,” meaning “Yes, we want sustainability.” The goal of this particular general assembly was sustainable development in the Americas, and the marchers were successful in showing that supporting all human life, including the life of the the unborn, is the most sustainable course of development in the Dominican Republic.

Many of the OAS general assembly civil society representatives were sent by pro-abortion Non-Governmental Organizations that hope to propagate the culture of death in the Dominican Republic, as well as throughout Latin American countries. However, a diverse and energetic rally of Dominicans made it known to the OAS that they value all human life and will actively avoid abortion in their country.
